Maintenance Tech, 1st shift

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.   This is an hourly position.  Overtime is mandatory as required and during peak production periods.  In addition to the listed responsibilities, there may be other responsibilities as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Provide technical guidance and liaison to operational departments
  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on the following equipment based on pre-determined schedules:
  • Injection molding machines
  • Dryers
  • Air Compressors
  • Chillers
  • Cooling tower
  • All auxiliary equipment
  • Keep records of preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Check air filters in vents on a monthly basis
  • Verify on a monthly schedule, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting are operating properly (back up for Janitor)
  • Procure necessary supplies needed to keep machines and equipment operational
  • Ensure all equipment and machines are in proper working order
  • Maintain building and facilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of machine shop equipment
  • For safety reasons, must wear long pants
  • Clean pump by-pass filters and restart water tower after power outages
  • Assist in set up of molds / mold changes
  • Assist with switching on heats, molds controllers, chiller lines, and work area lighting
  • Assist with the set up of all secondary fixtures that accompany mold changes
  • Monitor molding processes on automatic presses when specified by Production Supervisor

Quality Control Inspector, 1st shift

Details: This position reports directly to the Quality Control Supervisor. This is an hourly position in which overtime may be required as determined and approved by the Quality Manager. In addition to the listed responsibilities, there may be other responsibilities when required.

Job Description: Assure products meet Atlantis’ and customers’ specifications and expectations by inspecting in-process and finished goods, recording results, stopping production should the quality of the part not be able to be maintained.

Responsibilities*: Visually inspects parts by confirming specifications according to procedures/ instructions; rejecting unacceptable materials and noting on re-inspection sheet; Approves in-process and finished products (including re-work) by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production; Notifies the Quality Control Supervisor of any nonconforming or out of specification dimensions for action plan; Performs First Article Inspection; Ensures nonconforming product is segregated, and properly identified with Quarantine to prevent intermingling with conforming product; Maintains lot control by recording lot numbers on work orders, inspection reports, and other applicable records.

The Quality Engineer will aid in the design, installation and evaluation of quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques for Atlantis Industries. Supports the design of or recommends inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. Recommends revision of specifications. Helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures. May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools. Interfaces with all other functions within the organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving
  • Plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems

 Qualifications:

  • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems and professional ethics

  • Perform preventive maintenance on molds per predetermined schedule
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tool shop equipment per predetermined schedule
  • Maintain tool shop order and cleanliness
  • Repair molds as detailed on SP-15b (Machine Shop Order)
  • Change molds and cavity inserts as detailed on SP-15b (Machine Shop Order)
  • Develop and fabricate fixtures as detailed on SP-15b (Machine Shop Order)
  • Assist in the repair of production equipment as detailed on SP-15b (Machine Shop Order)
  • Close out of SP-15b (Machine Shop Order) once work is completed
  • Set up secondary jobs (post molding) where tool shop equipment must be used
  • Assist Mold and Tool Manager with new design concepts and alternate building methods
  • Make new molds and tools from design drawings
  • Make mold modifications from design drawings
  • Transport molds from mold preventive maintenance area to tool shop and to storage area once maintenance or repair is complete
  • Assist in the evaluation of all incoming molds from outside sources, complete SP-18a (Mold and Tool Evaluation)
  • Support production when tooling issues arise
